Blxst Reveals The Studio Monitors That Shaped His Sound | It Goes To 11

Rapper, singer/songwriter and producer Blxst shares his favorite piece of music gear: the KRK Rokit 7 G4 studio monitors. Known for their deep bass and crisp high-end frequencies, these monitors were Blxst’s go-to gear while honing his distinct West Coast R&B sound. Blxst recalls first falling in love with an earlier, smaller version of the KRKs he picked up at Guitar Center in his early days, when he was teaching himself to produce before collaborating with YG, Mozzy, Snoop Dogg, and Nas.

"Music alone gave me a voice," Blxst says, adding that these speakers helped him develop a sound that transcends boundaries. Recently, Blxst released his debut LP, I’ll Always Come Find You, a cinematic concept album that explores themes of love, identity and self-reflection through the story of a young man named Birdie.
